01 DAY - ARRIVAL, MONTREAL

Departure of the flight to Montreal from Italy. Arrival in Canada and welcome by a representative of Acquaforte in Canada. Transfer to your accommodation in downtown Montreal (youth hostel in dormitory for students, double or single room for accompanying persons). Afternoon: free time to settle in, refresh and start exploring the city. Dinner and overnight stay in Montreal.

02 DAY - MONTREAL

Morning: Breakfast and departure for the Montreal tour. Montreal is the second largest city in Canada after Toronto. This predominantly French-speaking city is the cultural and commercial center of Quebec. It is mainly located on the island of Montreal, in the Hochelaga archipelago, in the southwest of the province, on the border with the Saint Lawrence River, near Ontario and the United States. Historic center, skyscrapers, Chinatown… during the day you will discover the cosmopolitanism of the city

Afternoon: you will have lunch in a restaurant near your hostel, then explore the city at your leisure for the rest of the afternoon. Return to your accommodation in Montreal for dinner and overnight stay.

03 DAY – MONTREAL – STE HYANCINTHE

Morning: breakfast and departure for a visit and meeting at the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences on campus. The campus hosts a research farm and one of the oldest agricultural research centers in Canada. Afterwards, visit a milk testing laboratory that performs tests for producers in the province of Quebec.

Afternoon: lunch and transfer to the city of Ste Hyacinthe. During the journey, you will visit a farm representative of Quebec’s agricultural businesses. Check-in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

04 DAY - STE HYANCINTHE

Morning: breakfast and departure for a visit to the Quebec AI Center, where the first cloned bull in Canada was created (Starbuck II). Then, visit to the Maskita Farm and the Institut Technique Agricole de Québec. The Maskita farm, located on the ITA campus in Saint-Hyacinthe, supports the agricultural education provided at ITA, particularly in the programs of “Farm Management and Operations,” “Animal Production Technology,” and “Agromechanical Engineering Technology.”

Afternoon: technical visit to a cider house and microdistillery that produces traditional ciders as well as ice ciders! Return to accommodation for dinner and overnight stay. Free time in the evening after dinner. 

05 DAY - STE HYANCINTHE – QUEBEC CITY

Morning: breakfast and departure for Quebec City. During the trip, visit to a dairy farm in Drummonville and a cheese factory in Victoriaville. If time allows, visit to a cooperative of agricultural equipment and/or a mill.

Afternoon: long lunch on the way and afternoon visit to the Department of Agriculture at Laval University. Transfer to Quebec City and check-in at the youth hostel. Dinner in the center of Quebec and free evening.

06 DAY - QUEBEC CITY – CHUTE MONTMORENCY

Morning: Breakfast and departure for a visit to Quebec City and the historic center. As the capital of the province of Quebec, the cradle of French civilization in North America, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a port city, Quebec City has a unique identity.

Afternoon: After lunch in Quebec City, visit Île d’Orleans and a sugar shack. Later, visit the Beekeeping Museum and Montmorency Falls. Parc de la Chute-Montmorency is located a few minutes from Quebec City and, situated between the river and cliffs, is one of the most spectacular sites in the province. The imposing Montmorency Falls (83 m) dominate the landscape. Return to the accommodation for dinner and overnight.

07 DAY - QUEBEC CITY –MONTREAL

Morning: breakfast and departure for the northern coast along the St. Lawrence River. Visit to a bison farm. Stop in Trois-Rivières to visit the famous prison. In the dark corridors of the old prison of Trois-Rivières there is something for everyone. Young people, adults, foreigners, curious people… and sometimes even ex-inmates who return not to the scene of their crime, but to the place where they served their sentence! Then visit to the forestry museum.

Afternoon: after lunch in Trois Rivières, visit to Fort Chambly before transferring to Montreal. Check-in and dinner at the youth hostel.

08 DAY –MONTREAL, DEPARTURE

Day: Breakfast and check-out from the hostel. After lunch, leisure activities in Montreal or Laval. Transfer to the airport. Boarding the flight back to Italy.

09 DAY - ARRIVAL

Morning: arrival in Italy.
